Scotland's Fonab Castle Hotel, in Pitlochry, Perthshire - previously scheduled to open in March - will open in May, with plans to add a spa and other leisure facilities at the property later this year.
The 26-room hotel aims to become a five-star lodging and will offer private hot tubs, a panoramic, glass-fronted restaurant and exclusive-use packages for events and weddings.
In autumn the hotel plans to open a destination spa, pool, leisure club and heated and air-conditioned dog kennels.
Peter Sim, who has been appointed general manager, joins Fonab from Marycutler House Hotel in Aberdeen and brings with him 25 years experience in the hospitality industry.
Leeds-based Edwards Architectural Services is behind the transformation of the castle, which was designed by architect Andrew Heiton and dates back to 1892.
