All Accor hotels have signed up to the Hotel and Catering International Management Association's (HCIMA) government-backed Hospitable Climates energy efficiency programme. The company's 72 hotels in the UK and Ireland which include the Formule 1, Etap, Ibis, Novotel, Mercure and Sofitel brands, will join the programme in a bid to reduce energy usage and costs. The programme perfectly complements the Accor Hotels Environment Charter which is in place in all Accor's European hotels, said Bill Wilson, Accor's technical services manager. It provides the hotel teams with the necessary awareness, advice and ideas. Armed with this information, the Accor hotel teams have the necessary tools to promote energy efficiency in their own hotels and make a difference.
