School trips to museums and attractions both in the UK and overseas, could be put into doubt after a teacher's union called upon its members to have nothing to do with them. The National Association of Schoolmasters/Union of Women Teachers, has urged members not to take part in such trips, as parental calls for '100 per cent safety' were impossible to guarantee. In an increasingly litigious society, the union feels that the benefits of a trip are outweighed by fears of accidents, such as the tragic death of 11 year old Bunmi Shagaya on a trip to France last month.
