Luscious, the chain of healthy low fat cafés, is seeking third-round funding to continue its rollout programme. Launched two years ago when the Australian founders saw a gap in the market for low fat food, the chain now has 11 outlets. Two of these are high street sites, while the others are located in Holmes Place Health Clubs where three new sites have recently opened. Luscious Organic Corner cafés offer products made using low fat ingredients such as fruit juices, soya drinks, low fat lattes and fat free muffins. We have managed to achieve so much and we have put that down mostly to the pro-active nature of the company, the ability to spot market gaps, the founders working 24/7 and the dedication of staff, says co-founder, Tony Guy. The company has identified at least four new Organic Corner store sites and more in the health club market. Two new Organic Corner store sites are due to open in November.
