Plans have been revealed for a £8 million shopping and leisure centre on a demolished market site in Bradford. Rawson Quarter, which is being developed by Chartback limited in conjunction with Bradford council and Alfred McAlpine Special Projects, will include shopping, leisure and eating facilities and a venue for performing arts over two storeys. The ground floor will house a seven-unit food court, eight shopping units and a department store, while the upper level will contain the department stores top floor and leisure facilities. A glazed canopy roof will cover the site. A spokesperson for Chartback said: It will be a truly diverse scheme, representing traders and flavours from many different countries and communities. Chartback hopes to start work on the site next spring, and aim to open the centre to the public in 2003.
