Two luxury spas are to open at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, by the end of the year.
A spokesperson for the Palace, managed by the Kempinski Hotels and Resorts Group, said it was close to signing a contract with a leading spa management company to operate the facilities.
The spas will be located at the end of each of the east and west wings.
Although details of the facilities will only be confirmed when the management contract is finalised, it is understood that the treatment list is to include a mixture of European therapies and traditional Asian massages as well as Middle-Eastern body scrubs.
Located in a one million sq m landscaped park, the Emirates Palace has 394 luxury rooms and conference facilities including a fixed-seat auditorium for 1,200 people as well as a 2,000-capacity ballroom.
The Palace is owned by the government of Abu Dhabi and is due to open during March 2005.
