Dusit targets Philippines market with third spa resort and hospitality college
POSTED 24 Jul 2017 . BY Tom Walker
The new opening is part of Dusit’s plans to rapidly expand its presence in The Philippines
Thailand-based resort operator Dusit has secured a deal to manage a 271-room beachfront luxury spa hotel at the northern peninsula of Mactan Island in Cebu, the Philippines.

Dusit will operate the property on behalf of the owner, Robinsons Land Corp, one of the Philippines' largest real estate companies with a burgeoning hotel portfolio in the country,

Facilities at the Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu – scheduled to open in Q4 2018 – will include a luxury spa, health club and three restaurants.

Exact details of the spa are to be confirmed, but it will be operated under the Devarana brand, offering traditional Thai treatments and massages.

Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu will be the third property in the Philippines to carry the Dusit Thani brand – joining Dusit Thani Manila and the upcoming Dusit Thani Residence Davao.

“Partnering with hotel owners in key markets such as the Philippines is essential to Dusit International’s long term sustainable and profitable growth,” said Dusit International’s Group CEO, Suphajee Suthumpun.

The new opening is part of Dusit’s plans to rapidly expand its presence in The Philippines.

To support its growth plans for the country, the group is opening the Dusit Hospitality Management College – a fully-integrated hospitality school and hotel – in the capital Manila during 2018.

Dusit International currently operates 29 properties around the world, with a further 51 projects already confirmed to open within the next three years.

Alongside Dusit Thani, other brands in the company’s international portfolio include Dusit Devarana, dusitD2 and DusitPrincess.
