Silver COMPANY PROFILE
Swissline by Dermalab
BackgroundFounded in Switzerland in 1989, Swissline is one of the very few skincare brands that can trace its origins to cellular therapy. To this day, biotech innovation and development remain at the heart of the brand. Main products and servicesSwissline produces results-oriented products and treatments which embrace natural actives and skin-identical ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen, Niacinamide, Pre and Probiotics, and Madecassoside®. Swissline offers its partners the traditional support of an in-house Training Department, ie. programmes, manuals, video support
and coaching. In June 2022, Swissline will launch a training app for spa partners, complete with treatment protocols, ingredients files and training tools.
USPsSwissline’s award-winning formulas
contain skin-identical ingredients, including Madecassoside®and Collagen. Swissline was the first Swiss brand to bring Madecassoside® to the skincare market in 2006 in its Cell Shock Age Intelligence™ consumer and professional products. Madecassoside®
was used to help minimise post-procedure inflammation, following peelings, lasers and dermabrasion, and extend the procedure’s benefits. Swissline’s use of another skin identical ingredient, Collagen, is also worthy
of note. Their professional treatments use 92 per cent pure collagen films that have a 97 per cent identical molecular structure to the skin’s own collagen. The films can be used together with ultrasound devices, and offered post- procedure to boost skin repair and recovery. Where in the world?Swissline is present in 30 countries around the world in medi-spas, five-star hotels, luxury medical clinics and high-end retailers
case study: How Swissline's Relationship With Clinic Lemanic Has Given Its Partners Access To Otherwise Inaccessible Skincare
At Swissline, we’re skincare experts with a passion for skin biology and beauty. We look for spa and retail partners with a similar philosophy so together we can achieve new levels of excellence in age preventative and restorative skincare. Clinic Lemanic, a global leader in the fields of aesthetic dermatology and anti-ageing medicine, is one of our long-standing partners.
Although Swissline’s innovative skincare products and treatments have been available at
Clinic Lemanic for 20 years, it wasn’t until 2018 when Clinic Lemanic and Swissline decided
to join forces to develop a series of four co-branded products. The collaboration has brought
together Clinic Lemanic’s expertise in regenerative and restorative skincare therapies
together with Swissline’s expertise in luxury product development and skincare innovation.
“We decided to collaborate with Swissline on the development of our first ever branded
skincare products as we have worked with them for many years. Swissline’s facial
treatments are offered at the clinic, and we trust the quality and standard of their innovative
skincare products.”
- Dr. Veronique Emmeneger, Clinic Lémanic Co-Founder
“At Swissline, our product development is driven by a passion for beauty and science.
Formulated with natural actives and skin-like ingredients, our products often contain
higher concentrations of active ingredients than our competitors, making us a natural
choice for Clinic Lémanic’s results-oriented approach.”
- Christophe Lesueur, Swissline CEO,
The collaboration has not only benefitted Swissline and Clinic Lemanic, but also a handful of
Swissline’s most premium spas and retailers, who were given the exclusive opportunity to
include these luxury, restorative skincare products in their retail product assortment and spa
treatments.
The co-branded product line consists of four products: a face cream, La Crème, a serum,
L’Extrait, an eye cream, Le Baum Yeux et Levres, and a face mask, Le Miel de Massage. All
products were first launched at Clinic Lemanic, and then rolled out shortly thereafter at
handpicked, high-end luxury spas and retailers dotted around the globe. Some of the
partners include: Acqualina Resort in Miami, Bvlgari Hotel in Beijing and Socié in Taipei.
This collaboration is just one example of how Swissline works with its partners to create
mutually beneficial sales and marketing solutions.

Swissline reveals the truth about collagen
Collagen is a macromolecule… it can’t cross the dermis when applied topically, so, why would anyone want to invest in collagen skincare? To understand the answer to this question, you need to examine collagen more closely. The most abundant protein naturally produced in the body, collagen is a large complex protein consisting of long chains of polypeptides. It serves as the major structural protein in numerous tissues of our body, including skin, joints, blood vessels, muscles, gut tissue and dentin. As we age, our collagen production slows down. This is where collagen-boosting skincare and pure native collagen comes in! Collagen-boosting skincare productsPremium Swiss skincare brand Swissline, known globally as a collagen expert, offers a consumer range focusing specifically on collagen refurbishment; Cell Shock. The products in this iconic range utilise marine collagen to smooth and plump and, most importantly, peptide technologies and plant-based growth factors to boost the skin’s own innate collagen production. Collagen treatments with pure native collagenSwissline also offers professional treatments, such as Le Grand Soin au Collagen Pur, which use all of the above ingredients together with an industry record-breaking amount of pure native collagen. The face and neck films contain 92 per cent pure collagen – 97 per cent of which has an identical molecular structure to the skin’s own collagen, so crossing the dermis isn’t an issue. In addition, patented MatriCol™ technology – clinically proven by dermatologists – offers a non-invasive refill and instant replenishment, while Swissline's Advanced Cryo-Safe™ Method ensures the bio-active collagen in the films is stabilised without preservatives and without the usage of chemical cross-linking, facilitating the total preservation of the collagen matrix and the natural potency of the bio-active ingredients. Prepare for a restorative night’s sleep with Swissline and Abigail James
Swissline has collaborated with renowned UK facialist, Abigail James, on a co-branded collagen bedtime ritual revolving around two of the brand’s latest products and a best-selling essence. James shared why she thinks this at-home facial ritual is so special: “The physical impacts of massage on your skin include easing muscle tension, supporting the lymph system, stimulating blood flow and providing a rejuvenating effect. All of these outcomes – combined with what massage does for your nerve receptors – is deeply beneficial for our wellbeing. “The new ritual is underpinned by Swissline’s decadent products which all have a high-end, luxurious feel so it’s easy to lose yourself in the experience and totally switch off before bedtime – whether it’s for two or 10 minutes.” The ritual incorporates Swissline’s Collagen Balm Cleanser, Facial Boosting-Essence and Luxe-Lift Night Cream. The first step involves The Collagen Balm-Cleanser. The ideal consistency for facial massage, this incredibly luxurious and hardworking cleanser contains hydrolised marine collagen, soy proteins and a trio of amino acids to clean, nourish and nurture dry mature skin. The second step involves the Facial Boosting Essence, which harnesses the power of grape living water, kombucha extract and an urban-detox complex to visibly energise and refresh the skin, while boosting elasticity and suppleness. The third and final step involves the Luxe Lift Night Cream, which ensures deep skin-cell replenishment while users sleep. It lifts mature, dry skin with hydrolysed marine collagen and palmitoyl tripeptide-1, specifically targeted for collagen renewal. All three products can be purchased as part of a set here. For more insight on why Abigail developed the home ritual, check out the IG LIVE she did with Swissline Brand Director, Custodio D’Avo. Here’s to sweet dreams and healthy skin!

Hot topic: menopause… and its link to ageing skin
What used to be a taboo subject has recently emerged as a topic openly discussed everywhere from the doctor’s office to the dinner table.
As 50 per cent of the global population will experience menopause, it’s important to know not only how it can affect a woman’s body – including hot flashes, weight gain, insomnia, irritability and…even skin ageing – but what can be done to tackle the symptoms.
Wrinkles, jowls and dull skin are often part of the package because, during menopause, there’s a decrease in the production of estrogen and this can lead to the loss of collagen in the skin.
As collagen decreases, the skin loses its tightness and becomes more prone to fine lines and wrinkles. Given that 30 per cent of skin collagen may be lost in the first five years after menopause, it’s important to act quickly and decisively.
What steps can be taken?
Nowadays, Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is something more and more women are considering to tackle menopause symptoms. But there are other options aside from medical intervention, particularly when it comes to addressing collagen loss in the skin.
First of all, living a healthy lifestyle is key; limiting smoking, alcohol and sugar intake, and reducing exposure to UV rays. But a consistent skincare routine can be a major help too.
Collagen facials and skincare
Swissline, the Swiss skincare brand with more than 30 years’ experience, is known as a collagen expert.
With skin biology and skin-identical ingredients driving product development – and the skin’s innate recovery potential key to its brand philosophy – it’s no wonder Swissline places such heavy emphasis on collagen refurbishment.
Swissline takes a 360-degree approach to reinforce collagen levels in the skin.
Its skincare incorporates marine collagen, collagen-boosting peptides and mimetic growth factors with clinically proven positive effects on improving density, plumpness and reducing lines.
Beyond its at-home products, the brand also offers cabin-only treatment films scoring 92 per cent pure collagen (an industry record!).
The treatments can be offered in conjunction with ultrasound devices, applied post-procedure, or used on their own to boost skin repair and recovery.

The emergence of luxury cica
These days cica has become a buzzword in skincare circles. A derivative of the plant centella asiatica, it’s claimed to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and support the skin’s barrier function. Repairing, soothing and hydrating; it’s the ideal ingredient for dry, stressed skin. With no shortage of cica creams and serums on the market, it can be hard to differentiate one product from the next… but it doesn’t need to be! Not all cica products are created equally. Some products contain more diluted versions of the plant, including centella asiatica water or centella asiatica extract (affordable but not very effective options), whereas others contain more potent clinically-tested isolated fractions – such as asiatic acid, madacassic acid and madecassoside – with the latter being the purest and powerful. The majority of the products on the market contain diluted, generic plant extract in their formulas. In contrast, Swissline, a western skincare pioneer in the use of madecassoside has been incorporating it into its Cell Shock Age Intelligence formulas since 2006, when it was a patented ingredient from Bayer. Initally, these products were intended to be used following aesthetic procedures, such as Botox, to calm inflammation. Now, they’re offered as part of an everyday skincare routine. Standing out from the crowdCustodio d’Avo, international brand director for Swissline, coined the phrase luxury cica in an effort to further differentiate the brand’s cica offering. “Luxury cica takes cicatrisation (the activation of cellular repair to address scarring, etc) to the core of our formulas and dresses it in sexy and sophisticated textures, blended with peptides that can boost cellular production as well as ATP, NMF and Ectoin,” he says. Two of Swissline’s most popular luxury cica serums are Recovery Serum and Essential Serum.
