The spa facilities at Grayshott Spa near Guildford, Surrey have recently undergone a transformation to update them and bring them in line with the rest of the 47 acre retreat, former country seat of Alfred Lord Tennyson.
Award winning pool and spa designers Heritage Pools were chosen to complete the new indoor pool and hydrotherapy spa pool on the recommendation of the architect who was working on the renovation.
The company has installed a new indoor pool measuring 12.50m x 6.80m with a maximum water depth of 1.50m. The new pool is set alongside the new infinity edge hydropool, which features a neck massaging water cascade, and underwater massage seats.
A combination of light natural stone contrasts perfectly with the deep blue mosaic tiling that covers the pool and spa as well as elaborate wall designs.
Brian Andrews, Managing Director of Heritage Pools, commented: “Grayshott chose a very natural colour scheme, with deep blue tiles for the pool floor, natural stone mosaics on the pool walls, and natural stone for the pool surrounds. A combination of the blue mosaics and stone mosaics are used to finish the Hydropool and cascade water feature.”
The hydropool has an infinity edge and is set on a raised area above the main pool.
The new indoor pool, which was designed with a relaxation rather than a fitness focus, is fitted with a disabled lift and facilities for guests who have limited mobility.
To finish the chic look of the new pool area, an artistic rippled chrome ceiling feature - the idea of Grayshott proprietor, Simon Lowe - was fitted to mirror the ripples of the water.
