Dispense monitoring equipment company, Brulines, launched its BQM system at the Pub & Bar show recently.
BQM – Beer Quality Monitor – is a hand held device designed as a low cost way of improving line cleaning and can monitor the quality of up to six products for less than £100.
Pre-set using an LED display to indicate product (green), water (amber) or line cleaning fluid (red), the device needs only 3cm of product to work and comes with an extra six pre-set modes which can be individually programmed for different products.
BQM is calibrated by lowering it into a product sample and pressing the single control button. It then stores the data for future use.
When immersed in a particular product and the pre-programmed data having been selected, the device will show a green light to indicate that the product has not changed significantly from the original calibration.
If it has changed, BQM will show a flashing amber and green light to register that water is present and a red light to indicate that line cleaning fluid has been detected.
