Backed by a £3m marketing campaign, cereals company, Kellogg’s, has launched Special K Lite Bites.
The new product is Kellogg’s first ever savoury cereal snack and is based on its existing Special K cereal brand.
Available in foil packs and toasted rather than fried, which the company claims keeps the taste in but much of the fat out, Special K Lite Bites come in three varieties – Cheese, Tikka and Sun-dried Tomato & Basil.
Also new from the company is its Special K Apple & Pear Bar, a snack product aimed at the 75 per cent of UK women who are said to be either on a diet or watching their weight.
With a crisp rice and wheat base and including apple and pear pieces under a yoghurt topping, the new 90 calorie snack will complement the company’s existing Special K Bar, Nutri-Grain and Fruit ‘n’ Fibre Bar.
