Three jaguars have killed a keeper at the Schoenbrunn Palace Zoo in Vienna as she went into their cage to feed them. The 21-year-old woman came into contact with the jaguars after a gate, which should have kept the cats out of the cage, was left open. Zoo director, Helmut Pechlaner, who tried to save the keeper, was also badly mauled. The zoo says the jaguars will not be destroyed as they cannot be blamed for the human error that allowed them to come into contact with the keeper. The Schoenbrunn Palace Zoo is the oldest in the world, and celebrates its 250th anniversary this year.
