The Paradise Day Spa & Bath House in Queensland, Australia, has launched a finishing school for spa management and beauty therapist students.
With more than 12 treatment rooms and other communal treatment areas, the 1,000sq m (10,760sq ft) Paradise Day Spa on the Gold Coast is one of Australia’s largest day spas.
Principle spa manager Marie-Adele has been involved in the beauty industry for more than 20 years but she has been consulting in business management and corporate training in recent years and has written articles on the holistic approach.
She claimed: “The finishing school is for students wanting a career in five-star day spa here in Australia or overseas.”
The ‘frontline’ management 14-day intensive course will include subjects such as spa basics, quality control, loyalty programmes, managing your team, marketing and promotions.
The beauty therapist course can be completed in either a two-day or five-day intensive programme which cover subjects such as day spa treatments, spa pedicure/spa manicure, VIP clients, spa massage and spa equipment.
The spa and bath house was launched in August 2004 by a consortium of Australia and New Zealand-based investors and claims to be “inspired by the customs of several ancient cultures that intuitively understood the profound health benefits of bathing”. Details: www.paradisespa.com.au
