Balinese mega resort Apurva Kempinski all set for 2019 opening

The Apurva Bali Kempinski – a retreat which takes artistic influence from Indonesia’s "gods and temples" – is set to debut in March of next year.

Designed by architecture firms and studios Denton Corker Marshall and Trivium Design Group, the new clifftop getaway, which overlooks Nusa Dusa bay, has been described as an exemplar of the Balinese art and philosophy Tri Hita Karana, combining both the divine and natural worlds.

The 475-room hotel, which some have likened to an "open-air theatre" will feature five dining venues – including Bali’s first aquarium restaurant – as well as multiple lounge areas, a luxury spa and fitness centre, and two swimming pools.

According to the hotel, the spa will incorporate Javanese physical wellness therapies and treatments, encouraging guests to both imbibe Jamu – a local health 'elixir' – and partake in Lulur body scrubs.

In a statement, William Katuari, chairman of Apurva’s holding company Wings Group said:

"We have meticulously researched and worked with artisans to assemble the best of Indonesian craftsmanship, sharing with the traveller the richness of the destination’s cultural heritage. We trust that Kempinski will strengthen our vision in delivering an elevated interpretation through personalised local experiences."

Apurva will be Kempinski Hotels’ second branch to launch in Indonesia.
