Our collaboration with Plastic Bank represents a new step forward in our ongoing path of sustainability and regeneration
– Davide Bollati |
In line with its pioneering path to produce products that are good for both people and for the planet, Comfort Zone, the Italian skincare brand for spa professionals, has partnered with Plastic Bank to prevent 100 tons of plastic from invading the oceans in Indonesia, Brazil and the Philippines, while improving the quality of life of local communities involved in collecting plastic.
“Our collaboration with Plastic Bank represents a new step forward in our ongoing path of sustainability and regeneration,” said Davide Bollati, chair of Comfort Zone.
“It’s become obvious that the only way to accelerate the needed transformation from the current socio-economic extractive model towards a new regenerative paradigm – a transformation that can no longer be postponed – is that of creating multilateral alliances and coalitions working together to reach that objective.”
Plastic Bank builds ethical recycling ecosystems and reprocessing materials for reintroduction into the global supply chain.
Local collectors exchange their plastic waste for premiums which help provide basic family necessities such as groceries, cooking fuel, school tuition, and health insurance.
The collected material is then reborn as Social Plastic which can be easily reintegrated into products and packaging as part of a closed-loop supply chain.
"We're excited to partner with Comfort Zone and the Davines Group- a company that shares our vision on creating environmental, social, and economic impact," said David Katz, founder and CEO of Plastic Bank.
"Our partnership represents a unique opportunity to reveal the value of plastic and make a direct impact in the effort to stop ocean plastic."
