Amanresorts has opened the Amangiri property in Canyon Point, southern Utah in the south west region of the US.
Amangiri, meaning 'peaceful mountain' is located in the area of the US known as the Four Corners, where the states of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona meet. With a dramatic backdrop, including deep canyons and plateaus, the area is home to the native Navajo and Hopi tribes as well as endangered species including the California Condor.
Amangiri also boasts the group's signature Aman Spa. Covering a total of 25,000sq ft (2,322sq m), facilities include a water pavilion offering hydrotherapy treatments and a glass-tiled, sky-lit reflection pool.
Amanresorts' Amantaka in Luang Prabang, Laos, launched in July 2009 while the next property to open within the group will be Aman Sveti Stefan, which will debut on the island of Sveti Stefan in Montenegro in 2010.
