Chiva-Som Academy launches online courses for spa and wellness careers

Chiva-Som International Academy, a professional wellness school in Bangkok, Thailand, has announced the launch of online educational courses for the spa industry.

Managed by luxury Thai wellness resort, Chiva-Som, the academy’s courses will be conducted remotely from Thailand, in English, through an interactive online platform to provide e-learning to spa owners and managers, therapists and all who are interested in stepping into a wellness career.

The collection of programmes will feature an Anatomy and Physiology module on 14-25 September 2020, while individual Spa Development and Spa Management courses can be arranged, subject to the student’s time zone and number of registered applicants, from 1 August 2020 onwards.

To begin with, there will be three courses open for submission with a limit of 15 students per course who will have the opportunity to interact and gain knowledge from the experienced course educators.

Anatomy and Physiology online course
This ten-day course provides a basic introduction to the human body, covering areas such as structure and function of various systems within the body, including disease and disorder.

It is designed for those working in beauty therapy, complementary therapy or any related field to help therapists administer treatments safely and accurately while recognising contraindications.

Towards the end of the course, the academy will conduct theory examinations. Separate CIBTAC examination dates will be issued annually by the Examining Board. Once completed, the E-CSA Professional Certificate in Anatomy and Physiology will be presented to a successful student.

The course will during 14-25 September 2020, with a total lecture timeframe of 60 hours. It is priced at THB17,000 per person (£430, €474, US$539).

Spa Development online course
This course provides an in-depth understanding of how to start up and implement a spa business in the current environment, as well as how to operate after the pandemic.

It is designed with owners of start-ups in mind or for those who work in spa businesses and are interested in opening their own. There is no prior spa background experience required.

The course runs over five days and can be registered for after 1 August 2020. The programme involves 30 hours of lectures and is priced at THB 39,000 per person (£987, €1,089, US$1,235).

Spa Management online course
Created for spa owners and spa managers who manage spas on a daily basis, this five-day programme is designed to help people achieve their business goals.

The course looks at operations via the nine key functions of the spa manager, along with providing an understanding and knowledge in managing a spa professionally with various approaches to achieve effective results. Previous experience in the industry is preferred but not essential.

The course can be booked from 1 August 2020, with a total lecture timeframe of 30 hours. It is priced at THB 39,000 per person (£986, €1,087, US$1,236).

Chiva-Som International Academy, a professional wellness school in Bangkok, Thailand, has announced the launch of online educational courses for the spa industry.
