Six Senses has unveiled further details about its debut Caribbean property, Six Senses La Sagesse, in Grenada, set to open in late 2022.

Developed by Range Developments, the 56-key beachside property will cover 38 acres and feature a Six Senses Spa overlooking a lagoon, designed in the style of a traditional fishing village.

In-house wellness experts and visiting practitioners will integrate local community knowledge and age-old traditions to offer a menu of speciality spa and beauty treatments, holistic anti-aging solutions, Caribbean healing traditions and rejuvenation journeys.

In line with the brand’s commitment to sustainability, the resort will operate on a self-sufficient and plastic-free basis, meaning the spa will supply all treatments with ingredients picked from the kitchen gardens, herb gardens and native fruit trees.

Wellness days and personalised programmes will be offered to help address common wellbeing concerns around digestion, weight loss, elimination of built-up toxins, weakened immune system, sleep, stress relief, muscle toning or building better stamina.

The resort’s natural setting will also cater for the active, complete with outdoor fitness trails and jungle gym, and for the more reflective, with quiet locations for meditation, forest bathing, labyrinth walking, sensory foot reflexology, fire rituals and candlelight yoga.

For younger visitors, there will be a teen’s lounge and children’s play centre, plus a schedule of Grow With Six Senses activities, where children are invited to reconnect with nature.

In terms of local excursions, Grenada offers up shipwreck dives and waterfalls, spice trails and chocolate factories, hiking and unique underwater art at the Molinere Underwater Sculpture Park.

Influenced by the region’s traditional architecture, the resort’s design will mimic a Caribbean village using materials such as nutmeg shells and cocoa skins to maintain the connection to Grenada’s “Spice Island” heritage.

The destination will be laid out using the natural topography of the land, with great effort given to ensuring space, privacy and uninterrupted ocean views.

Six Senses' CEO Neil Jacobs commented: "We're positioned for exciting growth in the Caribbean while keeping the emphasis on sustainability – the very core of our brand which influences all aspects of the business.

“Working with Range Developments means we can bring this vision to life, with a little help from the island's striking natural assets."

Six Senses has also created a handful of contemporary residences available for purchase.
The three- and four-bedroom green-roofed homes will be individually sited into the dramatic hillside within 21,500sq ft (2,000sq m) of landscaped gardens, each with a horizon-edge pool and wrap-around deck.

Owners will have access to all the resort’s facilities, amenities and services, as well as having the opportunity to place their homes into the rental program when not in occupation.
