Motor racing's governing body, the International Automobile Federation (FIA), has confirmed that Silverstone's British Grand Prix will go ahead next July. Following a series of wrangles about parking and traffic problems, the government has promised refurbishment will now go ahead to transform the Northants circuit and prevent the chaos experienced in recent years. More than £10m has been allocated to improve roads and parking areas for next year, and a further £40m has been set aside by the British Racing Driver's Club and Octagen Motorsports to develop Silverstone in the long-term.
