Marriott Hotels is set to spend £120m on upgrading 38 of its four and five-star properties in the UK.
Marriott’s Nip & Tuck scheme is the company’s largest single investment aimed at providing guests with refurbished bedrooms designed according to country club, urban, international and bespoke themes.
Meeting rooms and ballrooms will also be revamped and some hotels will benefit from an updated lobby, health club and restaurant.
The London Marriott Hotel Regent’s Park will be given a complete upgrade costing £10m, including a transformation of its exterior with new wrought iron and glass balconies.
Further north, the Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club near Edinburgh will benefit from a £3.3m overhaul of its bedrooms and restaurants.
Roger Binks, director of marketing communications at Marriott UK South & Ireland, said: “The Nip & Tuck programme is reinforcing Marriott’s commitment to its customers – we want to ensure that they’re not only receiving excellence in terms of service but the very best amenities and facilities as well.”
The nationwide initiative is due for completion in 2008.
