Azia Resort due to open in Paphos
POSTED 14 Feb 2006 . BY
The new Azia Resort and Spa is set for a March opening in Paphos, Cyprus.

The development will comprise the Asphodel Spa surrounded by three different hotels: Azia Blue for families, with the option of a superior room with spa pool and sea view; Azia Club & Spa, providing more private accommodation with larger balconies for sunbathing; and the Eternity Garden Bungalow with its private garden and spa pool.

The Asphodel Spa’s eight treatment rooms – with a further three planned – will offer an exotic frangipani body nourish wrap, a head or foot massage, a deep tissue muscle massage, an amethyst steam bath, a private steam bath and jet massage, a phototherapy wellness room, a water movement pool, an infrared body healing sauna, an indoor pool and spa bath, a pre- and post-therapy chill out room, a yoga studio, a fully-equipped gym, a decking and fitness area. Elemis will exclusively provide products and treatments, as well as training, marketing and public relations support.

Interior designer Hubert Zandberg and architect Nicholas Skarfe designed the spa, which is targeted at 30 to 50-year-old British couples. An Elemis spokesperson commented: “Their holiday requirements include spa treatments, as they are concerned with anti-ageing, relaxation and well-being, which is the essence of Elemis spa therapies.”

The Economides family – a real estate family from Cyprus – privately own and manage the Azia Resort. They have invested more than £1m in the Asphodel Spa and expect to see a return within the next 2 years.

Azia Chatila, CEO, said: “The Azia resort is a boutique hotel that offers a haven. A spa is essential to capture this element of escapism.” Details: www.aziaresort.com
