Wellness coach appointed at Badrutt’s Palace
POSTED 23 Dec 2016 . BY Jane Kitchen
Kumar is a traditional Indian yoga teacher with 12 years of teaching experience, who focuses on Hatha and Raja yoga techniques and is also qualified in Yoga Siromani
Palace Wellness at Badrutt’s Palace in the Swiss Alps is set to launch four new wellness programmes for guests this winter, overseen by the hotel’s new wellness coach, Vinod Kumar.

Kumar is a traditional Indian yoga teacher with 12 years of teaching experience, who focuses on Hatha and Raja yoga techniques and is also qualified in Yoga Siromani.

Kumar graduated from the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwanthari Ashram in Kerala before going on to study Yoga Vedanta under the guidance of H.H Swamu Nityananda Saraswathi at the Sivananda Ashram. He then completed his teacher training course at Swamy Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (SVYASA), an Indian Yoga University.

Kumar is certified internationally by the World Yoga Alliance for the Registered Yoga Schools (RYS), and is also qualified in yoga therapies and stress management programmes, with students in the US, Canada, Australia, Russia and Europe.

Lasting seven days, each of the Palace Wellness programmes consists of ten personalised sessions, each echoing the centre’s holistic approach to wellbeing.

For those who feel the pressure from fast-paced life, the “Stress Management Programme” is designed to help promote inner calm and healthy coping strategies through yoga, meditation and personal training. Therapeutic massage assists relaxation while traditional ayurvedic treatments such as Shirodhara aims to reduce anxiety and aids mental focus.

"Balancing the Energy Flow" focuses on achieving equilibrium in the body's energy channels while the "Releasing Physical and Emotional Pain" helps ease tight and stiff bodies. A mixture of yoga sessions, energising massages and personal training help to stretch muscles and rid the body of any excess physical, and mental, weight that restricts the body and mind.

For those looking for a more in depth spiritual experience, "A Journey To Self Love" helps guests to travel to their inner core, teaching them to love their body and see inner beauty. Yoga and self guided meditation promote positive mindset while a "self massage" class teaches guests to perform relaxing and nurturing massage techniques on themselves.
