A new spa resort in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland, is to open in 2011.
The Adelboden Alpine Bath will combine a health spa and a hotel with panoramic alpine mountain views.
The spa will cover 61, 354sq ft (5,700sq m), of which 11,840sq ft (1,100sq m) will be water surfaces. It will include 15 treatment rooms.
In addition, there will be 14 sauna rooms, 21 mineral water swimming pools, a medical wellness centre, a huge meditation bath, an alpine storm bath, several retail areas and a restaurant.
A spa operator has yet to be appointed, but Kannewischer Management of Switzerland are to be used as consultants on the project.
Zurich-based UC’NA Architects will be responsible for the architecture and interior design of the spa, as well as for managing the general planning team.
A total of three more spas are planned under the Alpine Bath brand, all to be located in Alpine destinations within middle Europe.
