Adam Zeitsiff leaves Gold's Gym for CEO role at Intelivideo
POSTED 05 Oct 2020 . BY Tom Walker

Digital fitness tech and on-demand platform, Intelivideo, has appointed former Gold's Gym CEO, Adam Zeitsiff, as its new president and CEO.

Zeitsiff will take up the role with immediate effect, as Matt Given, the exiting CEO, moves to take over as chair of the company's board.

Gold’s Gym was acquired by Rainer Schaller's RSG Group in July out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy for US$100m. Zeitsiff left the firm soon afterwards, on 26 August.

Established in 2014, Intelivideo provides video on demand (VOD) and digital technology services for gyms and health clubs.

The platform's end-to-end solution has been designed to help clubs develop hybrid models, by allowing them to build a subscription video on demand (SVOD) business to complement their brick-and-mortar facilities and services.

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an increase in demand for VOD services – and Intelivideo is among the companies to have experienced significant growth in recent months.

According to figures published by Intelivideo, the amount of minutes of video uploaded to the platform increased by 567 per cent in the past three months, while active subscribers saw a hike of 322 per cent. The base figures for these percentage increases were not revealed.

"The hybridization of brick-and-mortar businesses with digital innovation, particularly in the fitness space, is something I've been passionate about and advocating for throughout my entire career," Zeitsiff claimed, commenting on his appointment.

"I'm honored to be joining Intelivideo's technology-driven team in the mission of enabling gyms and health clubs to develop high-quality digital video presences, a business model which is more relevant than ever in today's marketplace.

"I'm eager to hit the ground running in the continued growth and evolution of this organisation and its state-of-the-art digital solutions in the fitness and wellness industry."

Given added: ""As an operator in the health and fitness space, I've long admired Adam's vision in using technology to enhance member experiences and make for better business.

"Intelivideo's clients and their members will undoubtedly benefit from Adam's focus on hybridisation, which revolves around marrying the in-club with the digital fitness experience. Under Adam's leadership, I'm confident the best is yet to come for Intelivideo as a trusted partner to our clients, as a great company to work for and as a solid investment opportunity."

Zeitsiff was chief information officer and SVP of brand innovation at Gold's between February 2016 and Apr 2018, taking up the position as president and CEO in February 2019.

He has a background that includes stints in the tech sector, including time at Jonas Software, EzFacility and IVCi, Hauppauge Digital and five years as a board member of Nijacat. The end of this board post coincides with the start of his new role at Intelivideo.

A replacement for Zeitsiff at Gold's Gym has yet to be announced by RSG. HCM will report when the news breaks.
