Equinox Group will require customers and employees to provide proof of vaccine, if they want to enter its Equinox clubs, SoulCycle studios and corporate offices.

The policy has been introduced after a company-wide survey showed an overwhelming majority of members expressing support for requiring vaccines in order to access Equinox clubs.

Set to come into force in September, all members, riders, and employees will be required to show one-time proof before entering Equinox properties.

Proof of vaccination can be provided in the form of physical immunisation card, photo of immunization card, or a digital vaccine card (such as regional passes).

Equinox said it will work "accordingly" with employees and members who require medical and religious accommodations.

The group has worked in partnership with local and state officials in creating the policy.

Harvey Spevak, Equinox Group executive chair, said: ""We have always made the health and safety of our communities our top priority, and we will continue to do so in partnership with infectious disease experts as well as local governments.

"We have a responsibility to take bold action and respond to changing circumstances with urgency. We encourage other leading brands to join us in this effort to best protect our communities."

Founded in 1991, Equinox operates more than 100 full-service clubs globally, while there are more than 90 SoulCycle studios across the US, Canada and London, UK.

Equinox is owned by a group of investors – including Spevak and principals of real estate firm, The Related Companies.
