Our focus is on longevity and preventive medicine, pursued through a holistic and scientifically grounded approach
– Dr Alexandra Dopplinger, chief medical officer, Tamina Health Centre
The 2,500sq m facility’s concept is based on four pillars of wellbeing: movement, nutrition, sleep and mental health
The centre has approximately 80 rooms for different therapies
Guests will undergo assessments that determine epigenetic age, microbiome profile, inflammatory markers and HRV
Add-on, personalised therapies will also be available to guests, such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy, intermittent hypoxia-hyperoxia therapy and infusion treatments
The Swiss health and wellbeing destination, Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, has launched a new facility staffed by medical professionals called the Tamina Health Centre.

The four-floor facility is named after the Tamina Gorge, the source of the resort’s healing waters.

Staffed by a team of more than 100 healthcare professionals daily during the week, the centre will be led by chief medical officer Dr Alexandra Dopplinger.

Dopplinger told Spa Business, “With the new Tamina Health Center, we are taking the next step in the evolution of our medical services. Our focus is on longevity and preventive medicine, pursued through a holistic and scientifically grounded approach.

“By combining advanced diagnostics, innovative therapies, and integrative highly personalized programmes, we aim to help our guests preserve their health, enhance vitality, and improve quality of life over the long term,” she added.

The 2,500sq m facility’s concept is based on four pillars of wellbeing: movement, nutrition, sleep and mental health. Advanced technology will be offered in cohesion with a concept that blends traditional Eastern medicine philosophies.

The centre has approximately 80 rooms for different therapies, a fitness centre, doctors’ practice areas, an aqua therapy zone, a fitness centre and a Swiss Olympic Medical Centre for sports medicine.

Programming will include advanced diagnostics and guests’ experiences will be personalised according to their individual requirements. Advanced diagnostics for all guests embarking on personalised programmes will undergo assessments that determine epigenetic age, microbiome profile, inflammatory markers and HRV.

There are five programmes that have been designed to support specific health and wellness goals for guests.

1. Longevity – This experience lasts between three and 14 days and is focused on reducing biological ageing, personalised medicine and guests will experience performance-enhancing therapies.
2. Detox – A seven-day programme for a full-body reset to support immune health and metabolism through tailored nutrition, treatments and mindful movement.
3. Weight Loss – Metabolic flexibility and hormone balance will be addressed by nutritionists following diagnostics. Performance training will also be curated.
4. Recharge – A three-to-five-day programme has been created for guests seeking deep recovery and nervous system reset. This experience uses aromatherapy, sound healing and stress-relieving rituals.
5. Health Check-ups – for three to four days, medical staff will obtain preventive diagnostics that provide the opportunity for early detection of illnesses. These measurements will take the form of lab tests, ultrasounds, ECGs and consultations with physicians.

Add-on, personalised therapies will also be available to guests, such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy, intermittent hypoxia-hyperoxia therapy and infusion treatments.

Grand Resort Bad Ragaz wants to remain at the forefront of the health and wellness industry and is regularly investing in modernisation. In 2023, the executive board embarked on a refurbishment of its two five-star hotels, investing CHF13.5m (£11.9m, US$14.8m, €13.7m) in the upgrades.
