Jara spa in Phuket takes guests on a holistic journey
POSTED 24 Jan 2017 . BY Rebecca Barnes
Family-owned luxury resort Trisara has re-established its Jara Spa, which was renovated and renamed to offer guests "five pillars" of wellbeing.

The pillars are inspired by the centuries’ old Ficus tree that envelops the spa, and include: rejuvenation through nutrition and balance of energy, represented by the roots of the tree; fitness and physical renewal which relates to the trunk of the tree; mind and body which is is represented by the tree’s spirituality; anti-ageing which is represented by the branches of the tree, and beauty and power of pleasure which are represented by the healthy leaves and fruit which flourish when the rest of the tree is nurtured.

Assisted by skilled spa consultants, guests can select treatments and personalised experiences according to their needs.

“True wellbeing is achieved through the understanding and embodiment of the five pillars in relation to the Ficus tree, which has become the philosophy of our spa experience,” said Mr. Sophon O-In, spa manager.

The new-look spa features a new entrance and lobby, which provide views of the Ficus tree, and a post-treatment room to enhance guests’ spa experience.

“We recognised that many of our guests were not ready for their journey to end once their treatment is finished, so we have added a post-treatment room where guests can unwind for as long as they like in a soothing environment,” said Sophon O-In.

The spa’s holistic bias incorporates mind and body as well as traditional beauty and massage. Jara Spa Discoveries will address some or all of the five pillars while responding to today’s hectic way of life, while Wellbeing and Local experiences take the guest on a journey of discovery using practices and techniques from traditional Oriental philosophy.

Signature treatments include the Royal Trisara 6-hand massage – a combination of Thai massage, Swedish massage and acupressure – and the Thai Thermal massage which uses heated Himalayan salts in clay pots.

All products used in the spa are chemical free. Products include AKA Organic massage and essential oils, and Sodashi face care.

Pilates, Muay Thai boxing, personal training, Thai stretching, tennis and physiotherapy are also available.

The award-winning Trisara resort is situated amongst tropical jungle and nestled in a private bay 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport. All accommodations include private pools and sea views.

The resort’s recent extensive renovations were completed by Bangkok-based interior design practice P49 Deesign.
