Cape Winelands spa undergoes major refurbishment
POSTED 02 Feb 2017 . BY Rebecca Barnes
Overlooking the Jonekershoek Mountains and nestled against rows of vineyards, the newly refurbished Lanzerac Spa in the heart of the Cape Winelands of South Africa, is now open.

As part of the large-scale refurbishment of the historic Lanzerac Wine Estate, the Lanzerac Spa has been reimagined in an attempt to establish itself as a leader in health and wellness on the Stellenbosch Wine Route.

Facilities now offer a retreat experience with a "luxurious feel": large windows allow light to flood in, while showing off the vista outside.

The interior design uses layered textiles and colours, with the walls manufactured from a mix of timber, fabric and wallpaper claddings.

On site are six treatment rooms (including a couples room and disabled room), four mini manicure and pedicure stations, two rasul chambers with sensation showers, an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms, fitness room, mist rooms and two relaxation areas with views of the vineyards and mountains.

Guests can also visit the Vitality Corner, which offers homemade beverages and healthy, wholesome cuisine.

Spa treatments are results-driven, and delivered by health and skincare specialists who have undergone intense training. The menu includes a range of signature journeys, NeoQi therapies, touch therapies, massages, facial therapies, body wraps, OPI manicures and pedicures, waxing and tinting.

Included within is the NeoQi cocoon – a hydrotherapy system for detoxing, energising and relaxing the body – which is used in conjunction with the Spa’s TheraVine™ Thalaso Therapy.

The capsule has a beneficial effect on the sensory organs: hearing, sight, smell and touch, while the combination of dry infrared and humid steam sauna, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy and chromotherapy helps improve circulation, strengthen the immune system, decrease stress levels and help smooth, firm and promote younger-looking skin.

Elemis is the Spa’s international product partner; the brand has also devised a signature treatment for the relaunch of the Spa, which is exclusively available at Lanzerac.

The local product partner is TheraVine, a brand which harnesses the super antioxidants derived from grapes, fusing these with essential oils and cutting-edge active ingredients.

“We’re absolutely delighted with what we have achieved with the new Lanzerac Spa, which has a lovely synergy with the refurbishment throughout the rest of the Estate,” said spa manager, Lizande Rossouw.
