Dave Wright, CEO of Myzone, has re-joined UK Active’s board for a three-year term
He was previously a board member from 2009 to 2014
Wright will represent the ‘Wider Activity’ section of UK Active’s membership body
He takes over from Professor Greg Whyte, who was re-elected as an independent non-executive director for his second term
Dave Wright, CEO of Myzone, has re-joined UK Active’s board of directors for a three-year term. He previously served from 2009 to 2014 and will represent the ‘Wider Activity’ section of the non-profit’s 4,500-strong membership body. The election process was held in November 2022 and approved on 15 December 2022, with the outcome being announced to the public this week.

“I am proud to be reappointed to the UK Active board for a further three years, particularly as we approach such a crucial time for the future of the sector,” said Wright. “Together with our new board members, we want to work with UK Active’s members to elevate the value that society puts on our industry, and ensure what we do is recognised and supported by the government and its agencies.”

Wright takes over from Professor Greg Whyte who has been re-elected as an independent non-executive director for his second term on the board.

Mark Sesnan, who joined UK Active’s board in 2015, has also been reappointed for a final three-year term. He will be representing the ‘Public Leisure Operator’ section.

Board members work to ensure that the views of the membership base are fed into UK Active’s strategy and operations.

Under UK Active chair Mike Farrar, the new board members – including Amy Williams MBE, Victoria O’Byrne and Katy Cox who joined in September 2022 – will also help UK Active to help deliver on its Vision 2030 strategy.

“Dave and Mark clearly have a wealth of sector experience, knowledge, and passion for our mission, so we are delighted to have them on the team as we begin the next chapter in our vision for the sector’s growth,” said Farrar, chair of UK Active. “Together with the reappointment of Greg, and our new board members, Amy, Katy and Victoria, this news means UK Active’s members can feel well represented and confident about the direction of our sector."
