The National Center For Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) and the National Institutes of Health have launched a new educational campaign.
Called Time to Talk, the campaign is intended to encourage patients – and especially those aged 50 or over – to discuss their complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) usage.
The campaign was spurred by a recent survey from NCCAM, which found that nearly two thirds of respondents – 63 per cent – had used CAM therapy. However, of those aged 50 or older, more than two thirds – or 69 per cent – did not talk to their physicians.
The intention behind the campaign is to enable patients to manage their integrated health more effectively. Details: nccam.nih.gov
