Progress Property Developments has submitted a planning application to Glasgow City Council to build a six-star hotel in the city’s financial district.
If approved, the 32,000sq m (344,445sq ft) scheme – designed by Ian Simpson Architects – will comprise a 158-bedroom hotel and adjoining block of 68 serviced apartments.
The Argyle International Hotel will feature a health spa and gym, including a rooftop infinity pool; a Pan Asian restaurant; a sky bar and restaurant; a coffee shop and pavement café; a 630-capacity banqueting suite and a conference room.
The occupiers of the apartments will have direct access to the hotel and its services via a concierge reception.
CEO Charles Price said: “We have planned this energy-efficient development to compliment Glasgow’s aim of becoming a world-class city and to service the increasing number of business visitors to the city.”
