The Slieve Donard Resort and Spa in Newcastle, Co. Down, Northern Ireland, has opened its doors after an 18-month, £15m revamp.
The redevelopment of the property, owned by the Hastings Hotels Group, added 60 new bedrooms – bringing the total up to 175 – and a 16-room spa and leisure facility.
Dr Billy Hastings, chair of Hastings Hotels Group, said: “The Slieve Donard has stood on this spot at the foot of the Mourne Mountains for more than 100 years. The Victorian architecture is outstanding and it was very important to us complement and maintain the original features in any changes that we made to the hotel.”
