Hotel operator Sofitel is set to launch a new resort in Montevideo, Uruguay in December.

Located on a national heritage site, Sofitel Montevideo Casino Carrasco and Spa will feature 116 rooms and suites.

The 5,382sq ft (500sq m) Sofitel So Spa offers treatments using natural products including cosmetic brand Sisley.

Spa facilities will include a hammam, indoor and outdoor heated pools, saunas, a massage parlour and a fitness centre.

Dining options on offer include 1921 restaurant serving French cuisine while other restaurants will offer a range of international dishes.

Other facilities include boardrooms, banquet spaces, meeting spaces and theatres.
