A new government-funded training initiative has been launched by the Spa and Wellness Skillnet in Ireland, in partnership with the Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management and tourism development board Fáilte Ireland.
The Spa & Wellness Skillnet will represent a network of around 180 spa and wellness facilities across Ireland, which will contribute 120,000 euro (£94,886, US$186,590) in membership fees to deliver the training initiative to more than 3,000 employees across the country.
The Skillnet has also been granted more than 486,000 euro (£384,530, US$756,150) by Ireland’s National Training Fund.
Skillnet’s focus will be on developing a qualifications framework for spa managers, owners and operational staff, in order to further strengthen Ireland’s spa industry.
