The trade body for the UK and Ireland, the Spa Business Association (SpaBA), has announced it will back the new SPATEC event, taking place on 25-28 April at Le Méridien resort in Malta.

The inaugural SPATEC will see more than 100 European spa, wellness and beauty professionals and suppliers meeting over a course of one-to-one meetings across two dedicated business days.

Announcing SpaBA’s support for the event, chair Suki Kalirai said: “This strong partnership was a natural step. SPATEC is a very professional, progressive event in the industry which will provide a quality forum from which our spa business members will receive great value.”

Nigel Wallace of Maclean Events, organiser of SPATEC, added: “With the support of the Spa Business Association, not only will the event concept reach a wider audience, but SpaBA will assist with the final stages of our research. So, for all our delegates, this will add greater value to the results distributed.”

The ongoing SpaBA research is being undertaken in partnership with The Leisure Database Company and intends to give SPATEC event delegates a definitive statement of the current size, scope and scale of the UK spa industry.
