Starwood is building a new Sheraton on the coral island of Mactan in the Philippines. The property, owned by AppleOne Mactan, will launch in 2019, with residences opening in 2020.
The 250-bedroom Sheraton Mactan, designed by BLINK, will include a 600sq m (6,458sq ft) Shine Spa for Sheraton with six treatment rooms. The property will also contain 1,313sq m (14,133sq ft) of function space, as well as a swimming pool, Sheraton Fitness facilities, and three dining venues.
The Residences at Sheraton Mactan Resort will feature 182 one- to three-bedroom apartments.
“This property will not only strengthen our presence in Asia Pacific, but it will put Sheraton one step closer to its goal of opening more than 150 new hotels globally over the next five years,” said Rajit Sukumaran, senior vice president, acquisitions and development, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific.
