UK's first Mandara spa launches at London hotel
POSTED 15 Feb 2011 . BY Tom Walker
Steiner Leisure has opened its first UK-based Mandara-branded spa at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel in London.

Facilities at the 700sq m (7,500sq ft) spa include nine spacious treatment rooms - one double for couples or friends and eight singles, three of which have en-suite showers.

In addition to the Mandara Spa body therapies, the spa menu also provides signature Elemis facials and detox therapies plus manicures, pedicures and waxing courtesy of Bliss.

Is the first time a spa has had Mandara, Elemis and Bliss products all under one roof.

Adjacent to Mandara Spa is the Fitness Centre which features a gymnasium, steam and sauna rooms, a 15 metre heated swimming pool and changing rooms.

Jeff Matthews, president of Mandara Spa, said: "We've wanted to break into the UK market for a long time now, but we had to ensure that we collaborated with the right hotel.

"The Park Plaza Westminster Bridge is an award winning hotel in the very most central and recognisable point of London. It's the perfect fit for Mandara Spa and our vision of offering an exotic escape in the heart of the city."

Founded in Bali in 1995, Mandara Spa is owned by Steiner Leisure Limited and operates in more than 20 countries.

Last year saw the first Mandara Spa launch in Europe at Lotte Hotel, Moscow, Russia.
