The award-winning Woodland Spa in Burnley, UK, will reopen in August after a comprehensive expansion project costing £16 million (US$20.5 million, €18.9 million)
The Woodland Spa is located on a 100-acre countryside estate in Burnley in northern England within the Crow Wood Health & Leisure – part of the the Crow Wood Hotel & Spa Resort
Upgrades will include the introduction of a brand new thermal suite complete with the UK’s first Ice Lounge by heat experience specialist Klafs as well as a rooftop dining space and rooftop pool area

The Woodland Spa, a premier UK day spa located in Burnley, Lancashire, is set to unveil the results of its £16 million (US$20.5 million, €18.9 million) transformation this August.

As part of the Crow Wood Health & Leisure Club and the Crow Wood Hotel & Spa Resort, the spa has been closed since early June for the extensive renovations.

Recently recognised as the UK’s Best Hotel Spa of 2024 for the third year running at the 15th annual Good Spa Guide awards, Woodland Spa is expanding its space nearly twofold and introducing a range of state-of-the-art wellness facilities.

Upgrades at the Woodland Spa will include the introduction of a brand new thermal suite complete with the UK’s first Ice Lounge by heat experience specialist Klafs, a vitality pool with built-in elevated hot tubs, a sanarium, Roman foot baths, heated loungers, experience showers and a mezzanine relaxation space.

Guests will also be able to visit a rooftop dining space and a rooftop pool area surrounded by relaxation loungers.

Renderings of the new thermal suite reveal modern interiors characterised by earthy tones and sleek, smooth details.

Despite expanding the space, the Woodland Spa team emphasises that they aim to maintain the luxury of space and will not double the number of guests.

Originally launched in 2013, the spa continues to offer a range of traditional European-style treatments from Templespa, Medik8 and Neom, along with nail services in partnership with OPI.

Existing amenities include seven pools, an outdoor terrace with loungers, two 16-seater Jacuzzis, a fire pit and a bar and lounge. Indoor facilities feature a pine-scented sauna, a steamroom, salt steamroom, an ice fountain and a rasul.
