A Zen Spa Retreat has opened at the new Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Covering 7,000sq ft (650.3sq m), the spa is one of the largest in the area. With eight therapy rooms, two VIP treatment suites and two relaxation rooms for guests, other facilities include a Splendid Tea Room, where guests can enjoy healthy snacks and organic drinks.

There is a range of locally-inspired treatments - such as the aah-pricot body exfoliation treatment, which incorporates an apricot pulp and raw sugar cane ointment - as well as a number of destination programmes for both men and women. The spa also features an organic line of products called Zendera which are also available to purchase.

The property is the island's first new build hotel in a decade and is the centrepiece of Sheraton's US$6bn (4.4bn euro, £3.94bn) brand revitalisation. Details: starwoodhotels.com
