Midlands-based spa group, Spa & Resorts Operations, is to invest £40m across its portfolio, including a 65,000sq ft (6,000sq m) £15m expansion at the spa resort and stately home, Hoar Cross Hall in Staffordshire.
The development is due for completion by the end of July.
Twenty-four bedrooms, including eight suites, have already been added to the existing 86 rooms at Hoar Cross Hall.
Further new facilities will include the addition of a 26m salt water pool with four spa pools, a relaxation cave, an aqua massage centre and detox steam sauna, a gym extension, a new aerobic studio, a new yoga suite and a squash court.
The group has also announced the addition of five new treatment rooms at both Eden Day Spa Nottinghamshire and Eden Day Spa at Hoar Cross – which opened in January – as well as the £10m development of a third Eden Day Spa.
Treatments at Eden include a range of Ayurvedic therapies and Pizzichilli, which combines oil massage and heat treatment.
A £15m Eden Hotel is also planned for the Nottingham spa. Details: www.hoarcross.co.uk
