Premium London health and fitness operator, Third Space, has opened a dedicated Hyrox Studio at its Canary Wharf club, which is the biggest luxury health club in Europe, at 100,000sq ft.
Best-in-class equipment is on offer in the 225sq m training space, including a six-lane sled-track, integrated wall ball technology and mobile landmines – as well as three signature classes and a team of master trainers to support members.
The Hyrox Engine class is designed to boost aerobic endurance and anaerobic capacity through a combination of high-volume running, erg work and functional strength training.
Hyrox Power is designed to help members dominate each Hyrox station – coaching them to effectively train with heavier loads, refine techniques, and learn to stay powerful and agile while managing higher heart rates and risk of fatigue.
Hyrox 90 is designed to enable members to get get race-ready. Through this class, they develop functional fitness to optimise their skills in the run up to the race. It includes squats, lunges, burpees, wall balls, ski erg and rowing to improve endurance, power and strength. Each week’s programme is progressively different, to refine and evolve skills and develop movements.
Chris Stanton, performance master trainer at Third Space, says the new facility has been introduced following a surge of interest from members in hybrid training and Hyrox competitions: “This is a space that will help our members to achieve their fitness goals in a sustainable way and will bridge the gap between elite performance and training for life," he explained.
“We've carefully designed the area and classes to empower our members to train with purpose, precision and consistency which will help create a new generation of hybrid athletes. As one of the only health clubs in the UK with a Hyrox-specific area, we're delighted to lead the charge for this new wave of functional fitness.”
This new launch follows hot on the heels of the launch of the Third Space longevity testing facility, the Performance Lab and The Recovery Spa, a performance-led recovery space offering treatments and therapies to support recovery and wellbeing.
