iceSheffield recognised as Centre of Excellence

iceSheffield has been officially recognised as Ice Hockey UK’s (IHUK) first National Centre of Excellence.

IHUK has previously nominated a number of regional centres of excellence, but no national venues. The news comes as the site – which is managed by Sheffield International Venues (SIV) – was selected to stage the World Women’s Ice Hockey Championships Division III tournament in March.

iceSheffield will host Britain’s games against Australia, Belgium, Hungary, South Korea and South Africa.
