Sustainable oral care brand ENML has released a series of new toothpaste flavours, beyond its signature mint, following a pilot guest amenities programme at select Marriott properties.
ENML produces dentist-formulated mouthwash and toothpaste tablets. They contain hydroxyapatite, a naturally occurring mineral that strengthens enamel, offering an effective alternative to traditional toothpaste and mouthwash.
One tablet is designed to be used at a time, turning it into a paste as a user chews it. A wet toothbrush should then be used to brush the teeth before rinsing for a clean, fresh mouthfeel.
The vegan, fluoride-free formula comes in zero-waste packaging as part of the brand’s commitment to eliminate the need for single-use plastic tubes. ENML says an estimated 1.5 billion toothpaste tubes are thrown away each year.
The new flavours are cinnamon, limoncello, lavender and there’s also a new whitening mint-flavoured option.
Jordan Harper, co-founder, ENML, said: “The main reason we wanted different flavours was because of circadian and seasonal rhythm. We wanted a flavour for every season: lavender for spring; limoncello for summer; cinnamon for fall, and our mint for winter. The flavours offer a subtle way to align yourself with season and to do something new every couple of months. Obviously, though, most people prefer mint year-round as their primary flavour of toothpaste.
“But we wanted to offer a different flavour specifically for nighttime oral care routines,” Harper added. “People brush their teeth in the morning and at night. They typically use the same flavour, but waking up and going to bed are two very different things and you have to signal to your body these are separate things. Using the same flavour can signal to the body it’s time to wake up when you are trying to wind down. That’s where we hope the lavender comes in and signals to the body it’s time to start relaxing.”
A jar of 60 ENML Mint Toothpaste Tablets costs US$24.66 (€22.7, £19.5). The 60-tablet jar of ENML Mouthwash Tablets costs US$16.99 (€15.6, £13.4).
Marriott pilot programme
ENML partnered with Marriott to pilot its water-free mint-flavoured tablets in spa retail locations and locker rooms.
The five US Marriott properties offering ENML’s products include: The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island, The Miami Beach Edition, The Ritz-Carlton Bacara Santa Barbara, JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort and Spa and The St Regis Bal Harbour Resort.
Harper added: “ENML is a refined wellness essential, designed to elevate the guest experience at high-end spas. Our commitment to premium natural ingredients, eco-conscious design and beautifully considered packaging makes ENML a seamless addition to the spa environment.
“Too often, vanity counters are stocked with inexpensive, chemical-laden products that feel misaligned with the values of today’s wellness-focused spa guest,” he continued. “ENML transforms this frequently overlooked touchpoint into a thoughtful, memorable moment that reflects the quality and intention of the overall experience.
“Our products are designed not only for in-spa use, but also for retail – merchandising beautifully alongside your skincare offerings while creating a new, revenue-generating category," concluded Harper.
