MOBI-MAT is an extremely tough, ultra-light, non-slip ground matting developed by Deschamps to give safe, temporary access to users across unstable, natural surfaces such as sand, snow, grass, gravel and mud.
With a wide range of applications it can be used by holidaymakers on the beach, yachtspeople and lifeguards as a boat-ramp, walkers as pathways to help protect sensitive environments, work crews as temporary roadways and even helicopter crews as a helipad.
It can be left in place permanently or moved as needed and - a benefit of its special permeable structure - vegetation can grow through it.
The three versions available are Mobi-Mat TOPX, suitable for pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair-users and children in pushchairs, etc, which comes in blue and white stripes and is supplied in ready-to-use kits consisting of rolls 25m/82ft or more long. The three standard widths are 1.4m/4ft 6in, 2.1m/6ft 9in and 2.8m/9ft 2in.
Mobi-Mat BOAT RAMP is ideal for yacht clubs, sailing schools and lifeguard stations and comes in three sizes 2.1m x 15m/9ft 2in x 49ft', 2.1m x 25m/9ft 2in x 82ft, and 4.2m x 25m/13ft 9in x 82ft. Colours available are white or NATO green.
Made of red Mobi-Mat A2X, HELIPAD can be used to form a temporary helicopter landing area and prevents stones and other material being thrown about and damaging the aircraft. The surface area of the helipad required depends on the type of helicopter being used.
In addition to its products designed for a variety of commercial uses, Deschamps also has ranges for defence/military and aircraft recovery.
