The 13-strong board of Wembley National Stadium Ltd (WNSL) is to be streamlined and restructured over the next few weeks. WNSL, the FA-owned subsidiary appointed to build the new stadium, will be reduced in size to eight or nine members, and will comprise individuals with experience of large scale construction projects, finance and marketing. The re-constituted board is being formed to comply with the wishes of the government and to ease fears that the decision making body was too large. A 20-strong list of possible candidates is being scrutinised by the government, Sport England and the FA. Adam Crozier, chief executive of the FA, will oversee the new board, which should be in place by February 4.
