RAC Hotel Services is helping to promote the HCIMA's energy efficiency programme. 'Hospitable Climates' is an agreement between the HCIMA, the professional body for hospitality industry managers, and the government. The programme offers a free advisory service to help reduce energy consumption in the UK hospitality industry by up to 40 per cent. The service claims to be able to save hotels up to £400 per bedroom, without any effect on guests and their comfort. RAC Hotel Services is one of the country's most influential organisations in the field of accommodation standard setting. It will help promote the programme in more than 3,000 hotels and guest houses that it inspects annually. All RAC inspected properties will receive hospitable climates information with annual letters, and inspectors will be encouraged to promote the benefits of the programme.
