Raffles Singapore Spa is offering precious gemstone treatments
POSTED 12 Dec 2019 . BY Megan Whitby
The iconic hotel recently completed a two-year restoration.

We want to make our spa a social, relaxing and interactive space with a good balance between communal and private experiences.
– Siti Mohd, Raffles Spa manager
The new spa at Singapore’s iconic Raffles Hotel has partnered with British product house ISUN, which specialises in gemstone-infused products, and Japanese skincare brand Mikimoto, the sister company to the famous cultured pearl business.

The iconic hotel recently completed a two-year multi-million dollar restoration, with design by Alexandra Champalimaud, during which accommodation was increased to 115 suites.

The spa, accessible by both hotel guests and the general public, is located in the Raffles Arcade and home to five single treatment rooms, one couple’s room and one suite.

The four-person suite has been named The Gem to accentuate the partnerships and provides a secluded relaxation experience for guests, with its own separate treatment rooms and facilities.

Siti Mohd, Raffles Spa manager said: “Gemstones have properties that facilitate relaxation and healing which ultimately enhances the treatment received by guests. Gemstone-infused massage oils are unrivalled in their abilities to enhance deep relaxation, mental strength and stability.

“We’re focusing on B2B offers such as opening up the spa for company events,” said Mohd, “As The Gem suite and the entire spa are available to be rented.

“This ‘Make it your spa’ concept allows us to dedicate the full attention of our spa team to the company’s guests and make sure they have a truly memorable spa experience.

“We want to make our spa a social, relaxing and interactive space with a good balance between communal and private experiences.”

Other facilities also include an aromatic steamroom, ice fountain, sauna, a pool similar to an Onsen and separate relaxation lounge areas for men and women.

The spa’s new signature gemstone massage, using products by ISUN, incorporates amethysts, garnets, lapis lazuli and rose quartz and uses massage oils infused with the gemstones. The treatment costs S$365 (US$268, £209, €243) and lasts 90 minutes.

The spa menu also includes a two-hour signature facial by Mikimoto, which offers products containing ingredients derived from pearls such as collagen and conchiolin. Pearl extracts are claimed to have natural regenerative properties and provide brightening anti-ageing benefits. The facial is priced at S$599 (US$439, £342, €399).

Access to Raffles spa facilities is complimentary with a minimum 60-minute treatment booking or at a day rate of S$100 (US$73, £57, €67).
