Boy dies at Center Parcs Longleat pool complex
POSTED 23 Aug 2019 . BY Tom Walker
The Subtropical Swimming Paradise is heated to 29.5C all year round and guests have unlimited entry to it
A child has died after falling ill at an indoor pool complex at the Center Parcs Longleat resort in Wiltshire.

The young boy had been playing with other children at the resort's Subtropical Swimming Paradise, when he is thought to have collapsed and become unresponsive.

Center Parcs staff provided CPR, with the assistance of medically trained members of the public, until paramedics arrived. An air ambulance was called, but despite the efforts to save him, the young guest passed away.

The incident took place on 17 August.

In a statement, Center Parcs said: "We are deeply saddened by the tragic news that a young guest passed away after becoming unwell while at Longleat Forest.

“Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time. We are continuing to offer our support to the family and to our employees who provided immediate assistance.

“In accordance with the family’s wishes for privacy at this difficult time, we will not be providing any further detail or comment.”

The Subtropical Swimming Paradise is heated to 29.5C all year round and guests have unlimited entry to it, included in the cost of their breaks.

Facilities include a wave pool, water play areas and spa pools, as well as a Wild Water Rapids ride slide.
