A new gallery - Landmarques, is opening on 16 January at the Museum of British Road Transport in Coventry. Landmarques will tell the story of the birth of the British road transport industries in Coventry from the earliest British cycles to the foundations of the City's 'Boomtime' following the Second World War. The gallery project has been partly funded by the Designation Challenge Fund administered by Resource: The Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries. The Designation scheme, currently working with 52 governing bodies, aims to give a strong message that many of the 'richest' museum collections are not in 'national' museums.
