POSTED 21 Dec 2015 . BY Jane Kitchen
Opening in Q2 2016, Alila Anji will be located in the heart of the Zhejiang province – the location of the Oscar-winning film ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Commune Hotels & Resorts will expand its Alila brand into China in 2016 with the opening of three new properties. The company is also adding Alila locations in Cambodia; Jakarta, Indonesia and a heritage property in India.

Opening in Q2 2016, Alila Anji will be located in the heart of the Zhejiang province – the location of the Oscar-winning film ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’– and will be surrounded by pristine bamboo groves, white-tea plantations and a grove of plum trees that blossom spectacularly in the spring.

The resort will resemble a traditional Chinese village, with white exteriors and sweeping dark-tiled roofs, and will feature 74 villas and suites with elevated views across the lake. It will include the first Spa Alila in China, with seven treatment rooms – including two double – reflexology rooms, a spa boutique, and an extensive menu of health, beauty and restorative treatments, including traditional Chinese medicine-inspired treatments.

Other facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, yoga tai chi pavilion, gym, kids club, and recreation centre, including mahjong rooms.

Alila Yangshhuo, originally a sugar mill, will become a historical yet contemporary design resort. It will include 118 rooms, suites and villas, as well as a signature restaurant, exhibition hall, kids club, meeting loft and library. A Spa Alila and an infinity pool that connects to the Li River are highlights.

Alila Tianxi Lake will be the third Alila property to open in China next year, and will overlook a lake and contemporary luxury golf course. It will include 68 suites and 13 villas, two restaurants, an event space, cooking studio, indoor and outdoor pools, a library, herb garden, and Spa Alila.
